Are you behind on your rent, mortgage or utilities due to COVID-19?

Summit County CARES is a rental and mortgage assistance program designed to help keep Summit County families and residents housed in the wake of the historic economic recession caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.


Summit County CARES will be providing utility assistance to help keep Summit County families and residents secure and healthy during this time of hardship due to COVID-19.


Eligibility criteria


  • Be a resident of Summit County;
  • Live in a household that was financially impacted by COVID-19;
  • Have an unpaid rent, mortgage* or utility balance AND
  • Gross income cannot exceed 300% of the Federal Poverty Guideline limit.


*Forbearance options for mortgage payments will be evaluated prior to assistance being granted. Partner agency staff will assist homeowners in evaluating these options.
